Joel Shuler

Director, DoD and Cyber Programs

Joel Shuler is Cyber Leader with over 21 years of IT and cybersecurity experience spanning the federal sector and private industry. He currently leads the DoD Cyber and Programs business line for Platinum Technologies. Known for his subject matter expertise on the implementation and maturity assessment of cybersecurity programs, Joel has consulted on various information assurance and cyber issues for customers that include the U.S. Air Force, Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Chief Information Officer, U.S. Army Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems, and major Oil and Gas/Energy providers.

Over the course of his career, Joel has held key leadership positions overseeing the implementation of enterprise cybersecurity policies and infrastructure solutions. Whether leading cybersecurity maturity assessment teams or identifying threats for critical infrastructure— Joel is known for his deep competence in this field and helps organizations move from an ad-hoc/reactive state to a more adaptive/predictive security posture.

Joel is also an Army Veteran who has served 18 years in the Army Reserve.
